Since we’d be staying in a more isolated cabin, there are slightly fewer food options. However, the nearby town of Idyllwild has a cute coffee shop, Higher Grounds Coffee House, and a great pizzeria, Fratello’s. We would definitely bring plenty of our own snacks as well.
-
This is a trip to relax and unwind. Think no laptops, limited internet, and lots of time to disconnect. We’d have a firepit on the property for nighttime s’mores, as well as a beautiful wraparound balcony surrounded by pine trees. We’d bring games, fun drinks to make, and lots of shows & movies to watch cuddled up by the fire inside.

The biggest appeal to this area is the hiking. Our cabin airbnb is centrally located on the mountain, which means we are within walking distance from numerous trailheads like the Dear Springs Trailhead. These hikes will take us through snowy mountains and over large boulders, but the views are well-worth the cold weather. Definitely make sure to bring a warm winter coat and boots!

If we are feeling adventurous, it a roughly 60min drive into Palm Springs, which is home to plenty of great restaurants as well as a natural springs spa, Azure Palm Hot Springs Resort where we could get massages and soak in their mineral pools.
-
For extra hiking options, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway offers hikers rides to the top of the mountain in cute tram cars, which gives us great views and access to lots of trailheads for more hiking.
